This book is just pirate phrases, like "Ahoy!" etc. It doesn't have a story at all, which is fine. The illustrations are cute, and I think it's a great intro to pirates for infants.

Wonderful first pirate book!

My son just turned 11 months old and we found this book at the library. I picked the book because it looked so cute and simple with good illustrations. Thankfully my son likes this book, too! The pictures are very bright and bold with a little green parrot to find on every page (probably not intended this way, but it's fun to find). Each page has something simple like "All hands on deck!" or "Hoise the sails!" You simply can't resist reading this book without a pirate accent. Now I'm online buying this book!

Kristin Noel Fischer writes women’s fiction, romance, and inspirational fiction. Born on the island of Guam, she’s always loved the water and sunshine. Growing up, she spent endless hours fantasizing about touring with the Harlem Globetrotters or becoming a circus performer. In fact, her childhood daydreams were so vivid, she seriously worried about her overactive imagination. Little did she know, despite her horrible spelling, she was, simply, a writer. After high school, she lived in Costa Rica and later Japan, where she journaled extensively about her experiences. She worked as a nanny in Boston before obtaining a degree in Biology from Washington State University. This book grabbed me from the first page. Loved getting the story from both the mother's and daughter's perspectives. Fischer creates very real characters with struggles that are believable and heart-wrenching. Wonderful combination of womens fiction and love stories wrapped up with some beautiful prose. Can't wait for more from this new author.

This articulate and emotionally satisfying storyline reverts back and forth between the lives of a mother and daughter, hinting at and slowly revealing a past secret that will impact their present and future. The book depicts a relatable family with all its flaws, problems and differences, one that manages to pull together when it's important for them to do so. Very entertaining, believable and well-written. Once I started it, I didn't want to put it down!

Great book for young children with a desire to learn drawing.

My son an I visited the children's museum in Indianapolis a few weekends back. While there, they had a table laid out for children to draw their own dinosaurs. An example from the Incredible Dinosaurs book was used to show how simple it was. After my son had so much fun with this, I decided to hunt down the book on Amazon and purchase it for home. I also purchased the affiliated Amazing Airplanes and Spacecraft book at the same time. I have not been disappointed. Unlike the Dinosaurs book, The Airplanes and Spacecraft book will require a ruler to get the best results. This was a little more daunting for my 6-year-old, but he still enjoys the challenge.
